Four ways to see your battery

Classic, Filled with the number inside, the percentage on its own, or just the time left. Each one shows a bolt while charging and a plug when you're on power but held back.

Battery health, explained

Click the menu bar item for the numbers that matter, in words you don't need to look up.

  • Time left

    On battery, the time until empty. Charging, the time until full.

  • Health

    Capacity compared with when it was new, rated Normal or Service Recommended like System Settings.

  • Cycles

    How many full charges your battery has been through, out of the number it's rated for.

Colors that tell you when to plug in

Color the battery by level, from red to green. Drag the thresholds along a bar, pick 2 to 5 colors, and watch a live preview of your menu bar as you go. Or start from a preset: Classic, Traffic Light, or Red When Low.

Or color it by what it's doing:

  • Charging
  • Discharging
  • Fully Charged
  • Low Power Mode

Alerts before you run low

When the battery drops to the level you choose, a card slides in at the top right of the screen, even over full-screen apps. Click it to open the menu. It comes once, and again only after you've plugged in.

On power, Amply can remind you to unplug at 80%, or tell you when the battery is full. Keeping a battery below full most of the time can help it age more slowly. No notification permission needed.
